The North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA) has launched a statewide teen workforce campaign, called “I Do Care,” created to inspire North Carolina middle and high school students to explore the variety of career paths available in health care.
Building the next generation of healthcare professionals is a top priority for hospitals and health systems to meet the care needs of North Carolina’s growing and aging population. Research for this campaign showed that the number one thing Gen Z and Alphas want in a career is the ability to make a difference.
The website serves as a guide for students, parents, and teachers to explore the variety of jobs available in hospitals and how to prepare for them. It also includes interactive features like a quiz and resources like local hospital teen programs. Hospitals across the state offer high school student opportunities like junior volunteer programs, apprenticeships, camps, and more to give teens an inside look at working in health care.
